Beyond the spoon: recipes for using chocolate butter

Updated: Feb 4

Our chocolate butter is dangerously versatile 😉 .

Here's lots of tasty ways to use it, from quick snacks to dessert upgrades...

Breads and pastries

Like all of our sweet butters, we have our go-to recommendations, and you'll have heard all about these if you've met us at a food festival. Lots of these are easy breakfast items the butter can just be spread onto, but we're also sharing a recipe for chocolatey overnight oats!

  • Toast

  • Bagels

  • Croissants

  • Pancakes

  • Waffles

  • French toast

  • Muffins

  • Crumpets

  • Scones

Chocolate butter overnight oats

Overnight oats with chocolate butter in glass jar.

Whether you're on-the-go in the morning, or you've got a busy lunchtime, this is a delicious bowl to prepare the night before, then look forward to all morning!

You'll need:

  • 50g rolled oats

  • 120ml milk

  • 1-2 tbsp chocolate butter

  • 1-2 tbsp yoghurt

  • 1tsp honey or maple syrup

  • Pinch of salt

Recipe:

  1. In a jar / Tupperware add all of the ingredients

  2. Stir well to mix everything in

  3. Cover and place in the fridge and leave overnight or for at least 4 hours

  4. In the morning re-stir and add toppings such as chopped fruit, chocolate chips, or peanut butter

Fruit, but tastier

Strawberries being dipped into a bowl of chocolate butter.

Fruit is a quick snack, but you can easily make it that little bit better with butter! Some of our favourite suggestions are:

  • Sliced banana with a dollop of chocolate butter.

  • Chocolate covered strawberries is a favourite for many but by using our chocolate butter instead of melted chocolate, it's a much lighter and creamier flavour boost.

  • Apple slices, our chocolate butter, and a tiny sprinkle of salt. Trust us, you must try it.

Simple additions to desserts

For some quick and easy additions, try the following, then read on for an upgrade on your traditional banana bread!

  • Add to ice cream – great with vanilla ice cream or salted caramel as the chocolate butter works particularly well with these flavours. Either add a spoonful of the chocolate butter as a topping to your ice cream, or add ice cream and chocolate butter to a tall glass in layers as a bit of a sundae.

  • Make your own cookie sandwich – this works best with chewy cookies as they don't crumble as much, but spreading our chocolate butter between 2 cookies is incredibly good at kicking those sweet tooth cravings!

  • While baking, swirl the chocolate butter into brownie or cake batter for an additional chocolate flavour. This is what your baking has been missing.
