Shipping policy
1. Shipping & Delivery Policy
At The Yorkshire Kitchen, we want our handcrafted butters to arrive at your door as fresh as they were when they left our kitchen. To ensure our fresh products are never held in a courier warehouse over the weekend, we operate a carefully managed dispatch schedule based on the type of butter you order.
Our Dispatch & Delivery Schedule
We dispatch orders from our kitchen Monday to Thursday, with deliveries typically arriving between Tuesday and Friday.
-
Savoury Butters: Dispatched Monday–Thursday via a Next Day service. These fresh, herb-infused butters are fast-tracked to ensure they arrive in peak condition.
-
Sweet Butters: Dispatched Monday–Thursday via a 48-Hour service. These robust, ambient-friendly blends are perfectly happy with a slightly longer journey.
-
Mixed Orders: If your order contains both sweet and savoury butters, we automatically upgrade your entire parcel to our Next Day service at no extra cost.
Please note: While we dispatch through Thursday, we do not currently offer weekend deliveries or dispatch on Bank Holidays.
Shipping Rates
We keep things simple and transparent. We offer a flat-rate shipping fee of £4.99 on all orders across the UK mainland. This includes tracked delivery and our specialised protective packaging.
Tracking Your Order
As soon as the team have prepared your parcel, you will receive a dispatch email with your tracking number. You can use this to follow your butter’s journey from our Yorkshire kitchen to your front door.
2. Returns & Refund Policy
Because we deal in fresh, perishable goods, our returns policy is designed to protect food safety while ensuring you are fully covered if something goes wrong.
30-Day Reporting Window for Damaged or Faulty Items
In accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have a statutory right to a replacement or refund if your goods are faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality.
We ask that you notify us within 30 days of receiving your order if you experience an issue. Please contact us as soon as possible if:
-
Your items arrive damaged or leaking.
-
You have received the incorrect product.
-
The product is faulty or does not meet our high quality standards.
To report an issue, please email: sales@theyorkshirekitchen.com Please include your order number, a brief description, and clear photographs of the product and packaging.
Our Assessment Process
In most cases, clear photographs are sufficient for us to assess the issue. If we do require an item to be returned for inspection:
-
We will provide a prepaid return label or arrange collection at no cost to you.
-
You will never be charged return postage or "restocking fees" for approved faulty goods.
Refunds & Replacements
Approved refunds are processed promptly. Funds typically appear in your account within 3–5 business days. If more than 10 business days have passed since approval, please contact us.
Order Cancellations
-
Before Dispatch: If your order has not yet been processed for shipping, we will cancel it immediately and issue a full refund.
-
After Dispatch: Once your order has been handed over to our courier, we are unable to cancel or recall it due to the perishable nature of the goods.
3. Frequently Asked Questions
Why don’t you ship fresh savoury butters on Fridays? To ensure your fresh savoury butters don't sit in a sorting office over the weekend. By shipping these Monday–Thursday on a Next Day service, we ensure they stay in a controlled environment for as long as possible.
What happens if I’m not in? Since our butters are fresh, we recommend being home to receive them. If you can’t be in, please use the courier’s tracking link to nominate a "Safe Place" (such as a shaded porch or a trusted neighbour).
How is the butter kept fresh during transit? We use specialised insulated liners and chilled packs where necessary—particularly for our savoury range. Once your order arrives, please pop your butters (especially the savoury ones!) straight into the fridge.
Do you ship to the whole of the UK? We ship to most UK mainland addresses. Some remote areas (Highlands and Islands) may have slightly longer transit times; we will reach out if this affects your order.
