The story of The Yorkshire Kitchen so far...

How The Yorkshire Kitchen started

We're Jamie and Sarah, the husband and wife team running The Yorkshire Kitchen, and we're passionate about high quality, local produce.

Jamie and Sarah

Our idea for flavoured butters came about while Sarah was on maternity leave. Brandy butter is something we'd never be without at Christmas, and Sarah has a family recipe that she makes every year. Friends and family always love the butter, so it was a no brainer to take it that one step further.

We came up with a name, designed a label and started making some jars to trial in the run up to Christmas. Of course, we didn't want to have just one product to sell, so our thinking behind the range of dessert butters was if you can add brandy to butter, why not add other flavours? And so, a larger range of dessert butters was born.

We attended a few Christmas markets in 2023, got stocked in a few farm shops and delis, and were blown away with the response! Our family and friends all joined in to help us, and we knew we had something we could turn in to a business.

2024

2024 came and we put our all in to the business. We brought out our Honey & Cinnamon butter, which is now our best-selling flavour. From listening to customer feedback we created and launched a range of savoury flavoured butters which have been extremely popular, even getting used by James Martin on his Saturday Kitchen show! We also won a Best New Business award, highlighting our commitment to working with the Yorkshire community and other local businesses.

We're so excited for you to be part of the next stage of our journey in 2025, and we have such exciting plans for new products and visiting new locations in the UK. As always, we'd love to hear any feedback on the products, new flavours you'd like to see or places you'd like us to be stocked in!
